Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What is newsiespotting?
newsiespotting is a website based on a game called Dutchyspotting created by the Triumverate who run the page DutchyWeb.  I am in no way affiliated with the Triumverate nor do I yet have their permission to use their idea.  But please be nice and visit their site anyway.
The basic point of newsiespotting is to watch Newsies find your favorite newsie on screen in as many scenes as possible and shout out their name so others in the room can delight in their presence on the screen as well.  The problem with this is that disputes arise over whether that newsie is actually in the scene or not.  I have decided to solve this problem with the source for your spotting needs: newsiespotting.  Here you will find a concise list of every scene each newsie is in and their location in that scene.

2.  Why are only some of the newsies on the list?
I am a college student with lots of schoolwork and while I do enjoy working on this website it is an enormous task.  Since the major point of newsiespotting is to find out when little seen newsies are on screen I have decided to (at the moment at least) limit it to the eleven "featured newsies".  Maybe I will open it up later so that Spot and Blink and Mush can join in but I figure that they got paid more for doing the movie so they can wait a little while.

3.  Which newsie are you going to work on next?

Although I have major executive veto (cause if I don't feel like spotting Snitch right now I'm not gonna), I'm going to let you guys decide this one.  After Specs (my personal favorite) is completed I will let your vote decide the next newsie I shall spot.  Just vote in the poll provided on the homepage or go here to access the poll.

4.  What if I find an error on the page?

Tell me!  The point of this page is to settle disputes, so if you think I'm wrong then email me.  You will get credit on the site if your correction goes into effect.  Your correction may even become a spotting of the week question.  If you find an arm or a leg I missed then definitely email me.  I'm not perfect, I don't expect to be.

5.  Where did you get all the pictures for the page?

I have to admit that at the moment I own no Snappy or Quickclip.  These pictures are all "borrowed" off of others sites.  Hopefully if I stole something off your site I have listed you in the links page.  If I haven't just email me and tell me that I haven't, you will be listed within a day.  If I took something off your site that you didn't want taken just email me and it will be removed, no hard feelings.  I will say however that I expect to get one of those neat little devices for Christmas and if your willing to wait a month the picture on my site will no longer be yours, it will be my own.  I plan to replace all borrowed pictures before making any new ones.  I just felt that I should start work on the page now rather than sitting on it for a month just cause I didn't have any pictures.
